Project: Four-story building reconstruction | Location: Syntagma, city centre | Completed: January 2019
Project information
The new in[n]Athens is a reality. With the new addition of 16 rooms, today occupies almost all of the building complex on G. Souri Street. The new integrated in[n]Athens was designed to meet the increasingly competitive tourism industry. The project is the result of the excellent cooperation between the co-owners, STOA Studio of Architecture and Nikos Manioudakis, who shared the same values and envisioned a hotel with an architectural identity.
Each project is unique. Reconstructing an old building is always a challenge, let alone, the reconstruction of a listed building about one hundred years old, with particular morphological and typological elements, that has to be transformed from offices into high quality tourist accommodation.
Given the heavy use of a city hotel, construction is all about sustainability. Buildings’ elements, mobile furniture and electromechanical equipment should be made to last. The success on managing the entire project lies in the golden cut between sustainability, design, cost and delivery time.
